Diary Pages - Family & Life

This was written on Jul 10, 2016 while I was posted in Siliguri, West Bengal

Hey all!

I am addressing after a long time (six years!); the last journal was dated probably somewhat in 2010. So much has changed in these years. I have joined Bharat Petroleum, been posted in Rourkela for around three and half years and currently am now in Siliguri. One of the best places one can work, I suppose. The weather, job environment is enjoyable enough.

The biggest change in personal life has happened. From being a care-free bachelor, now I am a responsible married person. I am lucky that God has allowed me to be with the person I have known and loved for nine years. She has had a lot of influence in shaping my life. Today, she’s in Kolkata, recuperating from fever and I hope she gets well soon and joins me in Siliguri. Without her, home doesn’t seem the same. I admit, it is quite difficult to stay alone when I have been accustomed to her presence and love. Mitu, I really thank you from my heart for the unending support and love in all these years. There has been ups and downs, but Hey, who doesn’t? We are still bonded together by love, compassion and care, and that is what matters most.

Mitu & me

I am missing the love of quite a few people today, who are physically no more, but their spirit lives on in us. ... Pisimoni, Mamabarir Dadu, Bhombal Dadu, Gabla Dadu, are the few special ones who immediately comes to my mind.

Karunamoy Chatterjee (Mamabarir Dadu)
Sudhanshu Mukhopadhyay (Gabla Dadu)

Munmun Chatterjee (Pisimoni)

Gananath Chatterjee (Bhombal Dadu)

...

Pisimoni & Bhombal Dadu I had lost quite early, before, I had a chance to do something for them, they left for heavenly abode. However, it gladdens my heart to see how well Bordi, Chordi, Ria Pisi & Neha has done for themselves. My best wishes and love to them so that they can find happiness, peace and love in their lives. I have seen their struggle and I feel proud of what they have achieved today.

Gabla Dadu always wore white. Nobody possibly could have better embodied the colour white better in our family. I pray for Chabi Pisi & Bili Pisi’s well-being and hope that they be helped by one and all, as I believe everyone was touched by Gabla Dadu’s selfless deeds in one way or the other.

Mamabarir Dadu also left us around three / four years ago. His was a struggle, though his fighting spirit is worth emulating. The man conquered heart bypass surgeries (two!) and other operations and fought on with life. He would come across a tough person, however, possessed abundant love and care.

I have spent an eventful two years at Matigara, Siliguri and probably will continue for another year or so. As life progresses, have lost so many known faces, but also have gained so many new ones… the journey continues!

Cheers.
