GRATEFULNESS

The other day I was speaking with Aninda Kanti Maity, a dear friend of mine, whose journey towards being a confident-fit individual, transformation into one of the best version of himself has been really inspirational. During the end of our conversation, he opined that “being grateful” and “expressing the same” are two aspects which he has been diligently following over these years of transformation and urged me to make a habit out of it: remembering at the beginning of each day as to how blessed we are and being thankful for the same.

So here goes, my first attempt to record things I am truly grateful for:

Now that I take a deep breath and pause to think – the enormity strikes me, the magic wonders me and the feeling overwhelms me!

To the Supreme Creator who thought worthwhile to send me as a “human” in this wide beautiful world; to Mother Nature who has unfailingly continued to provide the means of life; to all people who have been with me through the travesties of the wonderful journey; to all the good and not so good experiences which have taught me like the best teacher I ever could have; to “human-kind” as well all the “animal-kind” in this beautiful planet who in spite of many challenges and suffering rise above to act beyond imagination and amaze – I am most sincerely grateful!

The list only expands as I delve deeper into the feeling and count my blessings – which I intend to do in the upcoming blogs.

However, Aninda specifically mentioned something which got registered in my brain; he opined: “do especially think of people whom you’ve got apart from and try to gauge what you could learn from them and be thankful for.” I thought long and hard, and could feel much of the negativity which I had harboured, the thoughts which I had suppressed for long in my heart, ebb away – a sense of liberation and gratefulness engulfed me. I realized what I have been missing and resolved to take action!

Self-Realization is one damn powerful tool.

Couldn’t thank you enough dear friend and I start this series, with my profound gratefulness to you for nudging me in a direction which I believe will make my journey much enriched!
